Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 February 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the RemitBuild platform and services. By registering an account or using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Definitions

  • "Platform" means the RemitBuild web application and associated services.
  • "Client" means a person who engages RemitBuild to manage a construction project.
  • "Contractor" means a verified construction professional engaged to deliver project work.
  • "Milestone" means a defined stage of construction work subject to inspection and payment release.
  • "Escrow Account" means the segregated holding account in which project funds are secured pending milestone completion.

2. Platform Access

Access to the Platform is granted upon successful registration and identity verification. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You must not share your account with third parties. RemitBuild reserves the right to suspend or terminate access for any breach of these Terms.

3. Escrow and Payment Terms

Project funds deposited on the Platform are held in escrow and released exclusively upon verified milestone completion. RemitBuild acts as a neutral operator and does not have beneficial ownership of escrowed funds. Milestone payments are released only following an independent inspection report confirming satisfactory completion. RemitBuild's service fee is deducted upon each milestone payment release in accordance with the fee schedule agreed at project onboarding.

4. Client Obligations

  • Fund escrow accounts in a timely manner to avoid construction delays.
  • Review and respond to milestone approval requests within the agreed timeframe.
  • Provide accurate project information and documentation.
  • Not engage the assigned Contractor outside of the Platform for works covered by the project agreement.

5. Contractor Obligations

  • Complete works to the quality standards and timeline specified in the project agreement.
  • Grant site access to RemitBuild inspectors and project managers at all reasonable times.
  • Submit accurate milestone completion requests with supporting evidence.
  • Comply with all applicable local construction regulations and safety standards.

6. Disputes

Disputes between Clients and Contractors are managed through RemitBuild's structured dispute resolution framework. RemitBuild will conduct a fair, evidence-based assessment and issue a binding determination. Decisions are final and binding unless a material error of process is identified and raised within 14 days.

7. Limitation of Liability

RemitBuild's liability in connection with any project or transaction is limited to the service fees paid to RemitBuild in respect of that project. RemitBuild is not liable for delays, defects, or losses arising from the acts or omissions of Contractors, inspectors, or third-party service providers. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by RemitBuild's negligence.

8. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property rights in the Platform, including its design, software, and content, are owned by RemitBuild. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Platform for its intended purpose. You must not copy, reproduce, or create derivative works from any part of the Platform.

9. Termination

Either party may terminate their account with 30 days written notice, provided no active projects are in progress. RemitBuild may terminate or suspend your account immediately for material breach of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or conduct that endangers platform integrity.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
